Comparison and modification of turbulence models for active flow separation control over a flat surface

The present work studied various models for predicting turbulence in the problem of injecting a fluid microjet into boundary layer turbulent flow. For this purpose, one-equation Spalart–Allmaras (SA), two-equation k–ε and k–ω, multi-equation transition k-kL–ω, shear stress transport (SST), Reynolds were used solving steady layer, their results are compared with experimental results. Comparing indicated that solution methods performed sufficiently we problem. Furthermore, it was found four-equation SST model most accurate method This predicted velocity along x-axis near- far-jet locations about 1% 5% average errors, respectively. It also outperformed other stresses, especially at center (nearly error). Moreover, modified has improved system's performance parameters by utilizing Sørensen correlations Reθt (the momentum thickness number), Flength (an empirical correlation controls length region), Reθc critical number where intermittency first starts to increase layer).
